Maryann Blake chose to make Colleton County her home almost two decades ago. She has practiced law here since 2006 and now owns a successful law firm operating at 205 E. Washington Street. She is licensed in South Carolina and Georgia and is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, District Court for South Carolina and Bankruptcy Court.  Her practice focuses on personal injury, probate, real estate, and business law. She is a certified mediator for both the Circuit and Family Courts in South Carolina.  She has been Prosecutor for the City of Walterboro since 2014.  In service to her fellow attorneys, Maryann serves on the 14th Circuit Fee Resolution Disputes Board and also serves on the South Carolina Bar Board of Governors where she has helps to oversee the Bar’s yearly budget in excess of $6.4 million. She previously held an At-Large Seat for the House of Delegates for the Bar.  Last year she was appointed to the Supreme Court Commission on Lawyer Conduct where she helps to enforce the ethical rules of conduct of attorneys.

Maryann currently serves on the Colleton County Planning Commission and previously served on the Colleton County Board of Assessment Appeals.  In 2017 Governor McMaster appointed her to the Board of Voter Registration and Elections Commission for Colleton County, where she served as chairperson. She recently resigned the Commission and is running for the Colleton County Council At-Large seat.  She and her husband attend the United Methodist Church where she is church attorney and serves on the administrative church counsel.  She is an avid quilter and in her spare time Maryann and her husband enjoy tennis, hiking, and traveling.
